VW Performance Oil Pumps

Here at Chirco we have been building quality performance Air Cooled VW engines for over 30 years, and we know a quality performance oil pump and oil system design is the key to long-lasting high-performance Air Cooled VW engines. Below are several styles of oil pump covers as well as performance oil pumps to meet the demands of high-performance Air Cooled engines. Please note when selecting a performance oil pump you must know if the camshaft that is being used is a dished or flat style camshaft, all performance and aftermarket camshafts use pre-1970 oil pumps also referred to as flat cam’s. All stock 1971 and later camshafts used what’s known as a dished cam and requires a longer shaft on the oil pump drive gear to engage fully into the cam gear.
