This stand works on both Alternator and Generators and is a direct replacement for the factory stand. To make a simple installation you may want to use our CPR129382 oil filler. The factory Generator stand will not work when using an Alternator because of the off set of the larger body of the Alternator. This stand works on all up right VW engines that uses a bolt on stand.
