PART 23-  Installing the Headliner.

We decided that we wanted a headliner in Donnie's car, but the roll cage prevented installing a regular headliner. Jackson said, "I have an idea". We went and picked up some gray foam material that will be glue to the body.

We purchased a large roll of gray foam and figured our first part of the headliner would be the inside roof. We cut a piece larger than we needed. From the second photo you can see the material we used.

Jackson put some thick glue that we purchase buy the gallon in his spray gun and started to spray the roof. Then we ran the foam above the roll bar carefully to not make contact with the glue.

Jackson the sprayed the back side of the foam and let it sit for a couple of minutes to get tacky.

We then pressed the foam up and smoothed it out with our hand.

So far it looks very cool and should deaden some of the hollow sound that Baja bugs have.

Jackson then cut some small strips to do above the widows.

He first inserts one side in to the gap and the the other side goes into where the stock headliner is inserted.

So far so good.

We had some problems around the rear window because of the curves in the body.

Jackson is very methodical in his work.

I kept asking Jackson if I could help him? He said "Thank you, you are helping" I wonder what he meant by that?

Not all of the interior will be covered. This sure has made the inside look nice. The rest will be finished when we do the wiring.
Great job Jackson
