PART 18- Putting the Body back on the pan

Finally the body is going back on the pan!

Prior to placing the body back on, we needed to put a new body gasket on the pan. Here at Chirco we sell two of them. One is made by Bugpack and the other by West Coast Metric. Both of them are one long piece that you have to cut to length.

Installation of the gasket is pretty straight forward. You will need to make four pieces, 1st one piece over the front hump, one over the rear and one on each side. If you can get some weather stripping glue, it will help hold it in place. The drying time is a couple of hours or half a nap. When you wake up you can cut out your pan screw holes with an exacto knife or a razor blade. Double check you have all of them cut before you put the body back on. (I missed a couple.)
I had to recruit more help than when Joe and I took off the body. We have a lot of addition tubing welded inside the body now. So four of us lifted the body back on the pan.
Now it is just a matter of putting back all of the body screws and washers in. Now we are getting some where with this car.
